Font list

Fonts are served by Google Fonts and are free for personal and commercial use under their open-source licences. Check each font page for the exact licence.

How to use the Font Explorer

Type a few words that matter to your project into Preview text, such as your brand name or a real headline. Fonts look very different with real content than with a pangram, and you will rule out unsuitable families much faster.

  1. Narrow the field. Choose a category first. Sans-serif and serif families are the usual choice for body text; display and handwriting families are meant for short headings and accents.
  2. Check flexibility. Tick Variable fonts only when you need many weights from one file, or Has italics if your content uses emphasis. A family without italics forces the browser to fake a slanted style, which rarely looks good.
  3. Test at the right size. Use the size slider to look at fonts at the size you will actually use them: around 16–20px for paragraphs, larger for headings.
  4. Open the details. Each font page shows every available weight, the supported scripts, the licence and a code snippet that loads only the weights you select.

About the catalogue

The catalogue is a curated selection of widely used, well-made families from Google Fonts. Names, designers, categories and licences come from the official Google Fonts metadata, and the available weights were checked against the Google Fonts API. Every font listed is open source and free to use on commercial websites. Read the font licensing guide for what that means in practice.
